The Legacy of Nelson Mandela (II)

Nelson Mandela was the first black President of South Africa and one of the most significant moral leader of our time. He was a reluctant politician who paid a price for being an authentic human being from whom all of us can learn how to be human in our human world. Courage and compassion were his most abiding qualities even at times when it was not expedient to hear, to see and to care. He never pushed his religious views in his interactions with others, but had an extraordinary ability to imagine how it would feel to be on the other side. His legacy is the reminder that the human tissue that binds us is stronger than the issues that separate us!
